People who love the four seasons usually do not live in Florida. But “times and seasons” are in God’s hands; not only “climate”, but the stages of our earthly journey are under His control. We all probably have our favorite season, e.g. spring or summer; but every season has an ordained purpose in the Creator’s life cycle. No politician is running this show!
My dear wife Chris, who has been in Glory exactly three years, loved the Fall. The turning leaves afforded us many pleasurable drives through the country. However, that was soon followed by their falling to the ground and making a “mess.” But leaf removal is a necessary burden that goes with the season. And so, it is as we become “seasoned saints;” the aging process can be an “exciting” journey; but not without the pitfalls and trials. Yet the Psalmist said to those abiding in Christ that they would “bring forth fruit in their season.” (Psalm 1)
While the world fosters a low and perverted view of life, e.g. whether abortion and/or euthanasia, God has a purpose for the “seasoned” citizen. Hopefully we can age gracefully, keeping a sweet spirit; younger folks need to respect and glean from those who have “weathered” the storms of life. The gray head should mean something. The elderly should have something to say rather than just having to say something. Our testimony of fruit bearing must last ‘til the final day of our earthly “season.”
The mission ministry continues to be a challenge. Your intercession is vital to the conversion of souls. Thanks for your continued prayer for my personal well-being. The Lord continues to touch me daily. I’m grateful for ongoing strength to fulfill my mission. I trust that you are experiencing the abundant fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Remember, regardless of any worldly or satanic opposition, we are “more than conquerors” in Christ!
With much love and prayers,
