August 2026 Update

Dear Ones:

I have spent my whole adult life trying to point folks to Heaven; but I’m amazed at how relatively few have really been personally exercised at heart. In fact, most seemed confident that their personal “goodness” would take them there someday. I recently saw a video clip of a man randomly asking people on the street, “Do you believe in Jesus Christ?” The typical response included shocking silence, embarrassment, anger, and cussing. Although that Name is constantly blasphemed, these folks did not know how to legitimately handle it; how true and how sad!

“Hell” is another well-worn expletive that’s not taken seriously but is a real place for the unsaved. Psa. 9:17 says, “The wicked shall be turned into hell...” One may ask, “Where is Hell, anyway?” It could be said that it’s at the end of a Christ-rejecting life! Yet such people still want to go to Heaven when they die. They don’t understand that the after-life is simply an extension of this earthly one. If a person has no affinity to God’s Word and His heavenly program down here, why would he/she want to live eternally in Heaven itself? Even if a sinner could get in, his exposure to the non-stop worship and Spirit-filled praise alone would drive him “crazy.” He would be a total misfit and would be hollering, “Let me out of here, this is hell!”

True saving faith always results in some change in attitude and action. (cf. 2 Cor. 5:17) Anything else is bogus. God doesn’t save people in their sin but only saves them from their sin. You can’t have it both ways. Away with this “easy believism” that “professes” faith without demonstrating godly evidence. Could it be that such unbelievers in Hell are destined to continue their ungodly activity; but now with hopelessness, dissatisfaction and torment? (cf. Rom. 1:28) They didn’t want God while here and He will “fill” that desire there. What a fearful and sobering thought!

Thank you for your continued prayer as I launch out in new opportunities to teach and mentor. Along with my Mission class I will be teaching an 8 week SS class on Philippians at Calvary Bible beginning Sept. 20th. My neuropathy has improved somewhat but not my walking. I must keep on keepin’ on despite the infirmities. I’m very grateful for a precious family visit recently. I also pray God’s blessing upon the saints (near and far) who have so faithfully ministered to me. Thank you!
