Dear Ones:

My Christmas day was peaceful but not silent. As Thanksgiving should really be continual "thanksliving," could that also be applied to the Christmas “Spirit?” I’m referring to the Holy Spirit that "fathered" the Christ child in Mary’s womb. We call that the “incarnation” (in-fleshment) of Jesus, when the "Word became flesh and dwelt among us." We celebrate that event one day per year, but what are the implications for the believer today?

In my book on Pentecost, I deal with the fabulous mystery of how Jesus Christ, after His ascension, came to indwell and fill every believer. Prior to Pentecost, the Holy Spirit dwelled with or among the disciples; But when Jesus left for Heaven, He sent His Spirit (the Comforter) to live and abide in His saints. Now, miraculously, by the Holy Spirit it is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” (Col.1:27)! Amen!

Take heart, dear Christian, you are indwelt and possessed by the Spirit of Christ! As the ol' hymn says, "Christ liveth in me...Christ liveth in me...O, what a Salvation this, that Christ liveth in me!" (Ponder Gal 2:20) There is no worldly “Christmas spirit” that can compete with such truth! O, to latch onto this divine mystery and reality of walking consistently in the Spirit of Christ every day of the year! Hallelujah! By the way, that is really the essence of genuine personal revival.

At this point I must give my Savior heart-felt praise and gratitude for His delivering and healing grace. It’s been three weeks since the prostate surgery and there’s no question that He has answered prayer. After being "chained" on a catheter bag for some 8 months I feel like a little boy graduating from diaperhood. Cleveland Clinic played a major part in restoring a semblance of personal dignity. What a special blessing it is to once again be able to “go with the flow!” (Pun intended!)

I’m deeply indebted to my extended family and the many who have ministered so wonderfully to me during this long siege. I’m still mending after almost a year since the medical “train wreck.” My heart-felt thanks to each of you for "just being there." May the Lord reward you accordingly.

Prior to surgery I held a few classes at the Mission. I will begin teaching again this Weds. (12/31) giving a challenge for the New Year. For the rest of us 2026 will be another opportunity to trust our faithful God. Let's determine to be an overcomer rather than being overcome. Remember, that's only possible because "Christ liveth in me!" Amen!

Wishing you all a God-filled and spiritually fruitful New Year.

With my love and gratitude,

Pastor Bill

Phil. 4:13
