Dear Ones:

Greetings from the “deep freeze” of NE Ohio! What a delight to watch the snowfall while sitting by the fire! Speaking of fire, I’ve often thought how enjoyable it is to have a heating system that is safe and efficient. If the fire somehow gets out of the furnace I’m in serious trouble. How ironic that gas (or electric) energy can be both a positive force and/or a disaster, depending on how it’s utilized. Solomon said, “There’s a season (purpose) for everything.” It’s easy to become obsessed with the weather, allowing it to temper our emotions, etc. One thing for sure, the folks believing in “climate change” haven’t “changed” anything; there’s only One who “changes” the climate - the God who put it all together in the first place!

I just got my fireplace repaired and not a bit too soon. Gazing at the flame is a fascinating and mesmerizing experience. Fire has a way of drawing people whether in a forest or at a fire-works celebration. Moses received a call from God when drawn to a burning bush in the wilderness. We speak of someone being “on fire for God.” Evidently that depicts a person “sold out” to his Lord’s purpose unhindered by worldly pursuits, etc. It’s one in process of being purified and matured through “fiery” trials, etc. whereby the main thing becomes the main thing!

I sense a “deep freeze” not only in the world, but in the Church. Pastors are leaving the ministry in droves. The sheep are forsaken and many are drawn into the “strange fire” of godless religiosity. In revival days, when faced with “coldness” congregations were exhorted to “pray for your pastor, that God will fill him with the fire of God, and then folks will come to watch him burn!” O, Lord, do it again!!

Your prayers have made a difference in my recovery. The surgery was a God thing, for sure; I’m just recouping from a respiratory infection, while keeping my mind activated. The Mission is constantly filled, as you can imagine. My weekly class has been evidenced by the Spirit’s presence. PTL! I’ve started a daily exercise routine to enhance my stamina. More than ever, I’m amazed how “fearfully and wonderfully” God has made us.

I know all of you have your own challenges and I pray that our God will faithfully sustain and encourage your hearts in these critical days. Thank you for making room for me on your “prayer list” and your hearts.

With my love and gratitude,

Pastor Bill
